Dr. Paula Stewart, the Medical Officer of Health for Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Health Unit has issued a statement on preparation and preventative measures that the Health Unit and the community is taking in relation to COVID-19. Currently the risk in in the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark area continues to be low and the Health Unit will continue to monitor and assess the situation. The full statement can be found at this link: https://healthunit.org/coronavirus/

During a pandemic event, the Township does not play a primary role.  We will be taking direction from the Medical Officer of Health for Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit and from the Provincial and Federal governments. We do not have any authority over how the Health Unit operates or what actions they may choose to take.

The Township will be monitoring the pandemic updates for any new information from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), the Provincial government, and the Health Unit. We will share updates as they become available to keep residents informed of any changes.

We urge residents to also take direction as provided by the province, federal government and the Health Unit and take the recommended course of action as needed.
