Dog Licences
Currently Animal Control Services are suspended for 2018. For more information please see our Animal Control Services page.
Kennel Licences
The Township of Drummond/North Elmsley regulates and licences dog kennels within the township. For more information, please contact the Township offices at 613-267-6500 ext. 251
Lottery Licences
The Township of Drummond/North Elmsley issues lottery licences to eligible charitable organizations. For more information on Lottery Eligibility Applications, Lottery Eligible Use of Proceeds, and the Lottery Reporting Checklist, please contact the Township office at 613-267-6500 ext. 251
Marriage Licences
The Township of Drummond/North Elmsley issues licences for marriage. The current fee is $100.00. Marriage Licenses are good for (3) three months. To learn more visit Civil Marriage Services.
Permits
Building Permits
Building Permits are to ensure the minimum standards of the Ontario Building Code are met in order to protect the health and safety of building occupants by regulating design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy of buildings and structures. Burn Permits
All open air burning within the Township requires a burn permit as per By-Law 2006-29. Fire permits are available free of charge from the Municipal Office or the Drummond/North Elmsley Tay Valley Fire Rescue Administration Office. If you are unable to attend in person, please call the Fire Department Administration Office at 613-267-2596, Ext. 4.
Entrance Permits
Properties that do not currently have access from the municipal road to enter a property require an Entrance Permit. For more information, please contact the Public Works department at 613-267-6500 ext. 243.
Planning Applications
Zoning By-Law Amendments
Generally required to recognize a change in land use or allow development that does not meet the current zoning but complies with the intent of the Official Plan.

Official Plan Amendments
Required when a proposal does not meet the policies or designations of the Township’s Official Plan.
Minor Variances
Available to provide relief to property owners from Zoning By-Law requirements they may otherwise be unable to comply with. Proposal must otherwise meet the intent of the Zoning By-Law and Official Plan, be desirable and appropriate for the neighbourhood and be minor. Applications are considered by the Township’s Committee of Adjustment.

Site Plan Control
Is a site specific process that is generally required for more complex development (commercial, industrial, multiple unit residential, etc) and for any development in or near environmentally sensitive areas or along the Rideau corridor. The site plan control agreement is registered on title and is intended to guide development on a site to ensure its compatibility with surrounding land uses.

Consents and Subdivisions
All division of land must be approved, either through the consent process (normally three or fewer new lots) or through plan of subdivision (four or more new lots). The Lanark County Land Division Committee is the approval authority for consents and subdivisions in the Township, although applicants are required to pre-consult with the Township to ensure that planning concerns are addressed.
