Temporary closure of Richardson Side Road scheduled for Oct. 5 to 16

Lanark County has contracted Crains’ Construction Ltd. to undertake roadway improvements at the intersection of Richardson Side Road and Drummond Concession 2 (County Road 10).

The road work is scheduled to begin Monday, Oct. 5 and is anticipated to conclude Friday, Oct. 16. A temporary road closure is required to complete intersection work on Richardson Side Road. Vehicle access will be restricted for the duration of the work.

For traffic local to Richardson Side Road, a signed detour route will be in place for the duration of the closure using Drummond Concession 1 and Ebert Road. Motorists are encouraged to follow all posted detour signage and allow for additional travel time. Only temporary impacts to traffic flow are anticipated on Drummond Concession 2.

“These improvements are being undertaken to enhance safety and maintain the county's transportation infrastructure for residents and road users,” said Sam Poole, Public Works Manager “We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation during this temporary closure and apologize for any inconvenience while this important work is completed.”

The county reminds motorists to exercise caution when travelling near the construction area, obey all traffic control measures and reduce speeds to ensure the safety of workers and other road users.
